Our web hosting plans include the cPanel Control Panel. cPanel is the industry leader in website control panels. With cPanel, it is very easy to manage email accounts, setup spam filtering, view website statistics, install databases, install software, backup/restore files, and much more. cPanel automates many tasks that would otherwise have to be done manually.
Our data centers incorporate the latest technologies in IDS (Intrusion Detection System) to monitor and protect against malicious attacks. Access to the server racks is limited with the use of key cards. In addition, the servers are protected behind internal firewalls and monitoring software. The custom-built RAID servers are connected to the internet through multiple redundant connections, ensuring fast data delivery and uninterrupted connectivity and are protected by a FM-200 waterless fire suppression system, the preferred fire suppression system for critical electronics and computer environments. There is 24/7 NOC constantly monitoring the flow of network traffic. In the event of a power outage, APC Power Systems automatically transfer power to one of the generators.
Some web hosts give free domain names with their accounts. The problem is many of these hosts retain ownership of the domain. This means that if you don't like their service and want to change hosts, you cannot because you would be leaving your domain behind. Or, if they let you take the domain, they will charge you to transfer the domain, at a rate higher than it would have cost to register the domain yourself. They are, in effect, holding your domain hostage. Identity Web Host does not do this. We purposely keep web hosting and domain registration separate. You can register your domain name through our subsidiary, YourDomainRegistrar, or anyone else.
Overselling is when a hosting company oversells the server and network resources by offering "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth. A hard drive with unlimited storage or a network with unlimited connection is nonexistent. Hosting companies that offer unlimited services are counting on you using a small amount of space and bandwidth. The is dangerous because this is an unknown variable. If the server reaches its space limit, not only will you be unable to update your website, but all services will stop working — database, email, and your website! The same is true with bandwidth usage. If too much bandwidth is consumed, your website will load very slowly, or worse, not load at all. Every gigabyte of disk space and bandwidth that Identity Web Host sells is assigned to the customer that purchased it.
